Candle Care Guide

1. SNIP

Trim the wick before each use, trim the wick to around 5-6mm above the wax to ensure a clean burn and minimize soot.

2. MELT

Allow the candle to burn for around 2-3 hours on the first use, this ensures the wax melts evenly to the edges and prevents tunneling.

3. LIMIT

Light the candle for no more than 4 hours at a time to maintain optimal scent and avoid overheating the jar.

4. SNUFF

Use a Kath & Co snuffer to extinguish the flame. Avoid blowing out the candle to prevent soot and splashing and keep your candle looking fresh.

5. RE-CENTER

After extinguishing, re-center the wick while the wax is still soft to ensure even burning on its next use.

6. DISPLAY

Store the candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the fragrance, and colour. Kath & Co Candles look stunning on mantle pieces, tables,  or shelves. For a truly unique statement piece and to help your candle stay fresh for longer, use a Kath & Co Wooden Lid when the candle has cooled and is not in use.

7. WIPE

When the candle has cooled, wipe the wax with a clean cloth to remove excess soot or dust.

8. STOP

Stop burning around 1cm from the bottom of the jar. This ensures the jar does not overheat and avoids potential cracking. You can use boiling water to remove the remaining wax and reuse the vessel. Note - Always use boiling water with care.
